| Open Source To-Do-List Manager: PlanCake Posted: 25 Mar 2010 09:41 AM PDT PlanCake is an open source task and list manager which can be downloaded/installed to a custom location or used from plancake.com for free. The application is fully Ajaxed, tasks can be re-ordered with drag'n drops and keyboard shortcuts are supported which all make the usage faster. It is possible to create tasks with due dates (or not) and PlanCake can display your to-do-list inside a calendar. Or, you can reach them from the lists they are bound to and the tags they were marked with.
The application can be used in 2 modes:

| Free Geographical Database Of All Countries (Over 8 Million Places): GeoNames Posted: 24 Mar 2010 10:17 PM PDT GeoNames is a set of free and downloadable geographical databases of all countries which includes over 8 million place names. The data comes in tab-delimited + utf-8 formatted text files and can be downloaded as a whole or per country. Besides the locations of the places/cities/countries, databases include supplementary data like capitals, statistics, timezones and more. GeoNames data can also be reached from their free webservice which can return results in XML and JSON.
