Phraseanet is an open source PHP application for managing and distributing digital assets (photos, videos, sounds, PDF documents, etc.).

Files can be added into it one-by-one or with the import feature in bulk and keywords can be defined to each of them for finding them easily.

Searching files works pretty fast as they are all indexed and can be added into baskets to download as a zip or to send via e-mail (as a download link).

For photographers, you can easily manage the whole archive, categorize them and send to customers quickly.

For web designers, it is specially functional if you're regularly purchasing/downloading stock images or videos and in need of archiving them for future use.
