3D refers to objects that been created in 3 position (X, Y and Z). Now a days, there are a lot 3D objects that you can see in movies, product designs, logo, advertisements, etc. Even they are commonly seen these days but they are not easy to create. You need 3D authoring tool or website that offers ready-made 3D models to create a masterpiece.
For this post, I know that this will cost a lot to non – professional users so I will be featuring open source 3D modeling tool and places where you can download free 3D models but be sure to read the owner’s rights before you use it for your commercial or personal use.
Blender is a free and open source modeling and animation application that is great for modeling. The essentials of using this tools is having Interface, Modeling, Rigging, Rendering, Animation, UV Unwrapping, Shading, Physics and Particles, Imaging and Compositing, Real Time 3D/Game Creation, and Phyton scripting.

Art of Illusion is a free, open source 3D modelling and rendering studio. The highlights include subdivision surface based modelling tools, skeleton based animation, and a graphical language for designing procedural textures and materials. It is stable and powerful enough to be used for serious, high-end animation work.

Google SketchUp is an open source software that you can use to create, share and present 3D models.It promise that you can have a great fun and for anyone use. Even it is for modeling your house, models for Google Earth etc. There are dozens of tutorials and videos that you can use to brace yourself in using this.

Seamless3d is open source 3D modeling software free and available for all under the MIT license.It is a very powerful and practical 3d modelling software for anyone who wants to make quality 3d animated content for the web. Real time editing , compact tool bar, fast backups, animation and more.

K3DSurf is a tool that visualize and manipulate Mathematical models. 3 Delicious has a great 3D modeling pieces. You can also view what are the daily best, weekly best or any date frame that are mostly downloaded. The great thing is that you don’t need to register to get the coolest 3D artwork.
Archive3D has the most great designs in terms of architect and interior designs. It offers more than 25000+ free 3D models for your commercial use.
Sketch Up Warehouse is the collections of 3D models created in Sketch Up software. If you are not good in using the Sketch Up, you can just download a 3D model for your next project.
3DM3 gives visitors a vast variety of 3D models in different categories. There is also a forum for the 3D creator and also tutorials that you can use to create this great designs.
Exchange 3D is really an exchange of 3D model pieces to the visitors. You can try the free ones for your projects. A huge collections of 3D models awaits you for this website.
